ARTIST STATEMENT

I have a long history of family summer reunions at Crystal Cove State Park in North Laguna Beach. In the mid-1990s, the State took over the leased famous beach cottages, and there was talk of demolishing them as they did with the trailers at El Morro Cove at the south end of the park. I made it a personal mission to document the cottages as they were, for posterity, with a large-format camera. Fortunately, the cottages have been saved due to the efforts of the CC Conservancy and can be rented to the public. Many have been restored and have my photographs installed as décor.
