ARTIST PROCESS
While selection of motif En Plein Aire painting is largely a more or less immediate reaction to light, atmosphere, color and scene, studio painting subjects are a different matter. They are usually more cerebral in that they come from a measured and considered idea which may be original or an extension and expansion on an original idea. Often, ideas for other paintings come to mind when working on a current painting.
