ARTIST STATEMENT

When a person is willing to spend money to purchase a work of art they become a collector. The answers as to why they respond to any work are varied and endless, but the bottom line is that they like it. After many years of selling paintings, I have found that almost every painting has a buyer – it just takes time to put the two together. At times it happens as quickly as “selling it off the easel”, while with others it may take several years. I have had collectors approach me after several years and ask if I still had a painting that they can’t forget. If it is still available, I tell them “Yes I still have it but it has won several awards since and therefore the price has increased.”

On my downtown studio/gallery door there is a sign “All Works Are For Sale – Paintings Looking For A Good Home.” I have sold a lot of paintings in addition to the ones presented here.Full disclosure, the highest percentage of my collector base is my family and friends whose support and encouragement I am eternally grateful for. Many of the paintings have been gifted as well as purchased. I have also sold paintings to absolute strangers for which I am also grateful that my work is meaningful to them, enough to purchase. Paintings looking for a good home? Mission accomplished!
