There is an abundance of truth to San Diego’s self-attributed motto “America’s Finest City” and it’s weather is said to be the “Best on the Planet.” We are blessed with beautiful beaches, mountains and deserts as well. In most of my adult life as a photographer I have tried to document things that are considered representational of those truths dating back to the 1970’s. The images here are a sampling of things I consider “Classic” about our city and county though many of the subjects no longer exist and many have changed while their essence remains the same.
