I was invited by James Hubbell’s Ilan Lael Foundation to participate in their inaugural visiting artists program and produced four paintings that were exhibited at the Gala Fundraiser and subsequent exhibitions at Santa Ysabel and Union Hall Galleries. The largest of the paintings “Sweet Peas” didn’t sell at the Gala or at Santa Ysabel Art Gallery. The owners of both of the galleries who had seen and become enamored of the painting, which had not sold in the previous venues, called the director of Union Hall and told her to put a red dot on it prior to its showing there, basically purchasing the painting while in transit. It now proudly hangs over the fireplace in their Rancho Santa Fe home!
